Matthew B. Seeley

Matthew B. Seeley is an associate with Lee Sullivan Shea & Smith LLP. Mr. Seeley has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in areas such as machine learning, telecommunications, network & computer security, computer vision, natural language processing, data center management, speech/audio analysis, and fiber optics. Mr. Seeley also has experience working in-house at several Fortune 500 companies where he managed international patent portfolios. He also evaluated more than 160 open source licenses while helping to build an open source policy for one of his Fortune 500 clients.
While he was a graduate student in computer science, Mr. Seeley was the lead author for submissions published in the 13th IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Bioengineering and in the 5th ACM Conference on Bioinformatics. Mr. Seeley also completed a master’s thesis applying ensembles of machine-learning models to predict protein secondary structure. Mr. Seeley also authored an article that was published in the BYU Law Review in 2011; that article has been cited by subsequent publications in Surgical Neurology International and WIREs Forensic Science.
