J. Dan Smith is a founding partner of Lee Sullivan Shea & Smith LLP. Mr. Smith has experience in all aspects of intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis in litigating, prosecuting, and counseling clients on patent, trademark, and trade secret issues.
Mr. Smith’s litigation experience includes both jury and bench trials in federal district courts, inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and appeals before the Federal Circuit, as well as advocacy in the International Trade Commission.
Mr. Smith assists Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and individuals in the procurement of patents and trademarks in the United States and abroad. Mr. Smith also renders opinions regarding the validity, enforceability, and noninfringement of patent rights.
Prior to embarking on his legal career, Mr. Smith had professional work experience at Raytheon Company.
